Teien Art Museum Part Three: Typography
And now we come to the final part in my little Teien mini-series. Possibly the best, or at least until the next exhibition opens. Typographic Posters of the 20th Century is currently on at the museum, and if you get the chance to go please do. I've been to a few typography exhibitions in a few different cities, and haven't seen a collection this broad in the one place before. The works displayed cover every decade from - yes, you guessed it - 1900 to 2000. Each era is accompanied by insightful info (日本語 + English) that describes how the social and political climates of the period affected the design of its typography. All of my favourites were from Germany and Switzerland, but the variety on display is incredible. Below are a few that really caught my eye.
That last one's a killer. Now I want to go and create my own type.
