Samuel Treindl

The wonderful work of German designer Samuel Treindle fuses tree branches and concrete, and I don't think I need to say more about the thoughtful combination of these two materials. What a beautiful outcome. And I love the detail of the red power cords.

Check out more of Samuel's work here. He has some fantastic ideas...despite the full meaning being a little hard to interpret unless you can read German. I might just drop the term "design solutionist" in there too (I'm sure the term "solutionist" exists in a marketing dictionary somewhere).

Czech Cubism

I know...where do I get one, right? These beautiful pieces are all reproductions from the golden era of Czech cubism - 1910 to 1938 - by Modernista. I went a bit silly over the black and white crockery when I found the range in Prague several years ago, where my fond interest in design and architecture from this period all began. If you're in the Czech Republic any time soon can you pick me up a cuboid vase or two? Thanks ta.
